Montieth Illingworth, President
Montieth M. Illingworth is President of Montieth & Company. His career creating and executing strategy as both a corporate leader and an advisor is diverse and comprehensive. He has advised clients on a wide variety of special situations and issues, including global market expansion, rebranding, corporate contests, M&A, governance, litigation and regulatory investigations.
Prior to starting the firm, Montieth was Head of Office, New York, for Gavin Anderson & Co., a global corporate and financial communications and public affairs consultancy. He led a restructuring of the office which included strengthening its M&A, financial communications and crisis management capabilities and making key senior hires. His prior positions included practice leadership responsibilities at Ruder Finn, Inc. (Global Corporate Strategies Group) and TSI Communications (eBusiness Group). Montieth began his consulting career with Development Counsellors International advising governments in the U.S. and around the world on investment attraction marketing and communications.
Montieth worked as a financial journalist for 15 years on staff for The American Banker and for Barron’s magazine and as a contributing writer for a variety of national newspapers and magazines. He is the author of the biography “Mike Tyson: Money, Myth and Betrayal” (1991) and is currently writing a new book on Frank Lloyd Wright and his Imperial Hotel.

Arthur P. Garner III
Art Garner is the firm’s Managing Partner and heads up the Management Advisory practice. Art provides advice and counsel on competitive capture/win strategies, M&A activities, corporate restructuring and shareholder value turnarounds, leadership alignment and strategic market positioning. Art was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin ORINCON Corporation International, a wholly owned subsidiary R&D and innovative technology corporation. As President/COO, he was charged with the execution of the corporate vision and strategy, revenue production, direct labor utilization, and profitability of the business entity. Focusing on the long-term purpose and direction of the corporation while monitoring its short-term performance and operations, he was responsible for ensuring the continued prosperity of the company while maintaining its emphasis on core value and behavioral integrity.
Before joining ORINCON, Art served as Director, Strategic Business Development for the Maui Research and Technology Park. Prior to that Art spent ten years in the aerospace industry with TRW Inc., as the Executive Director of Advanced Systems Development for the Space and Electronics Group in Space Park, Redondo Beach, California. Art also spent over 25 years in management and operational assignments with the U.S. Government in the intelligence community and the Department of Defense.
Emily Mayrath, Associate
Emily Mayrath joined Montieth & Company as an associate in January of 2008. Prior to that she worked in public affairs for The Patriot Group in Austin, Texas and has worked in communications for DeVries Public Relations, Comedy Central and The Lance Armstrong Foundation. She is a 2007 graduate of The University of Texas with a B.S. in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish.
