Montieth M. Illingworth is Founder and President of Montieth & Company. His career creating and executing strategy as both a corporate leader and an advisor is diverse and comprehensive. Montieth was most recently Head of Office, New York, for Gavin Anderson & Co., a global corporate and financial communications and public affairs consultancy. He led a restructuring of the office which included strengthening its M&A, financial communications and crisis management capabilities and making key senior hires. His prior positions included practice leadership responsibilities at Ruder Finn, Inc. (Global Corporate Strategies Group) and TSI Communications (eBusiness Group).
He has advised clients on a wide variety of special situations and issues, including global market expansion, rebranding, corporate contests, M&A, governance, litigation and regulatory investigations. Montieth began his consulting career with Development Counsellors International advising governments in the U.S. and around the world on investment attraction marketing and communications.
Prior to that he worked as a financial journalist for 15 years on staff for The American Banker and for Barron’s magazine and as a contributing writer for a variety of national newspapers and magazines. He is the author of the biography “Mike Tyson: Money, Myth and Betrayal” (1991) and is currently writing a new book on Frank Lloyd Wright and his Imperial Hotel.
